		Supported Platforms Second Wind version 2.0 will run on all 32-bit Microsoft operating systems (specifically, Windows 95,98 and NT) with any of the current versions of Microsoft Excel and all recent releases of the Oracle DBMS.
Getting Started Upon installation of the Second Wind add-in, two new menu items will appear on the Excel interface: '2ndwind' and 'SQL'. All of the menu-driven applications of Second Wind will be handled through these. The first menu item that is needed will be 'login...' Second Wind's menus do not become operational until a user has completed a login process with an Oracle server. This guarantees the security of the Oracle database and also allows the user to specify which database instance they are interested in working with. The login procedure handles the connection process, establishes a communication link with the local or remote database host and begins the Oracle session. At this point, users with some SQL experience can type any valid SQL query in a cell in the spreadsheet and then select 'submit' from the SQL menu. This will submit the query to Oracle for immediate processing.
